Privacy Policy

1. Overview

Stock-Dawgg™ is built on a single principle: your financial data belongs to you. This Privacy Policy explains what information Stock-Dawgg™ collects, how it is used, and how it is protected.

The short version — your portfolio data never leaves your device. Stock-Dawgg has no user accounts and never asks for your name or email address. We run a minimal server only to deliver market data and price alerts, and it holds no names, emails, or portfolio holdings. Stock-Dawgg does not sell your data. Stock-Dawgg does not show ads. Stock-Dawgg does not track you across other apps or websites.

2. Information We Collect

2a. Information Stored Only on Your Device

The following information is entered by you and stored exclusively on your device:

• Portfolio holdings — ticker symbol, number of shares, buy price, broker name
• Dividend frequency preferences per holding
• Monthly PDF reports

None of this information is transmitted to Digi-Dawgg Labs LLC. It leaves your device only if you choose to make an encrypted backup to your own iCloud or Google Drive (Section 2c).

2b. Information Used for Price Alerts

To send you price alerts, our alert service stores the following — and nothing more:

• An anonymous push notification token and a random app-generated device ID
• The ticker symbols on your watchlist (ticker names only)
• Your alert settings — thresholds, extended-hours and overnight alert preferences
• Your device type (iPhone or Android), so alerts are sent the right way

This information is not linked to your name, email address, or any account, and it never includes share counts, cost basis, or portfolio value.

2c. Optional Backups

On-device snapshots are saved on your phone only and are protected by your device's operating system encryption, like the rest of your Stock-Dawgg data. They never leave your device.

Cloud backups: if you choose to back up to the cloud, Stock-Dawgg encrypts your watchlist, portfolio, and settings with AES-256 on your device before anything is uploaded, and saves the encrypted file to your own storage — your iCloud account on iPhone, or a Stock-Dawgg folder in your own Google Drive on Android. Backups never pass through our servers, and we cannot read them.

• iPhone: the encryption key is kept in your iCloud Keychain so you can restore on a new iPhone signed in to the same Apple ID.
• Android: you sign in with Google to grant access only to files Stock-Dawgg creates. Your backup is encrypted with a passphrase you choose, which is never stored anywhere — if you forget it, the backup cannot be recovered. Your Google account details stay on your device and are never sent to us.

Cloud backups are entirely optional. If you never use them, your data never leaves your device.

2d. Subscription Information

Subscriptions are purchased and billed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). Digi-Dawgg Labs LLC never receives your payment card details, name, or billing address. We use RevenueCat to confirm whether your subscription is active. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user ID and your subscription purchase history from Apple or Google.

2e. Market Data Requests

When the app shows prices, charts, dividends, or news, it sends the ticker symbols it needs to our market data server, which retrieves the data from our licensed providers (Tiingo and CoinGecko). Our server records only the type of request, whether it succeeded, and how long it took. It does not record which tickers you asked for, and it does not store your IP address or any device identifier. The providers receive requests from our server, not from your device.

2f. Information We Do Not Collect

Stock-Dawgg does not collect, store, or transmit any of the following:

• Your name or email address
• Your location
• Your portfolio holdings, value, or financial performance
• Advertising IDs
• Contacts, photos, or biometric data
• Cookies or tracking pixels
• Analytics or crash data

3. How We Use Information

Stock-Dawgg uses your information solely to:

• Display real-time prices for your watchlist holdings
• Calculate portfolio value, gain/loss, and portfolio weight — on your device
• Send price alerts and push notifications
• Generate monthly PDF reports entirely on your device
• Display dividend calendar information
• Display market news filtered to your holdings
• Confirm your subscription status

We do not use your information for advertising, profiling, or any purpose other than running the app.

4. Data Storage

Your portfolio and preferences are stored locally on your device and protected by your device's built-in, hardware-backed encryption — file-based encryption on Android 10 and above, and Data Protection on iOS 16 and above. Stock-Dawgg requires these minimum OS versions, so every user has this protection.

Stock-Dawgg turns off Android's automatic app-data backup, so your portfolio is not copied to your Google account unless you make an encrypted Stock-Dawgg backup yourself. On iPhone, if you back up your whole phone with iCloud Backup, iOS may include Stock-Dawgg's data in that backup, stored encrypted in your own iCloud account. You can turn this off for Stock-Dawgg in Settings → your name → iCloud → Manage Storage → Backups.

The only information stored on our servers is the price alert information described in Section 2b. It is stored in the United States with our hosting providers, Amazon Web Services and Supabase.

PDF reports generated by Stock-Dawgg are saved on your device — on Android, in the Downloads folder under Downloads/StockDawgg/; on iPhone, in the Files app under On My iPhone › Stock-Dawgg. These files are never uploaded, transmitted, or backed up to any cloud service by Stock-Dawgg.

5. Third-Party Services

These services have their own privacy policies. We encourage you to review them. We do not sell or share your information with anyone for advertising or marketing.

6. External Browser and News Articles

Stock-Dawgg displays market news headlines and summaries inside the app. No external browser is opened automatically.

If you choose to read a full news article by tapping it, you will leave the Stock-Dawgg environment and be taken to a third-party website in your device's browser. At that point, the URL of the article may contain the ticker symbol of the stock being researched, and third-party websites may collect this information through cookies, tracking pixels, and browser fingerprinting.

We recommend using DuckDuckGo browser when opening external articles. DuckDuckGo blocks trackers and does not build advertising profiles based on your browsing activity.

7. Notifications

Stock-Dawgg delivers two types of notifications:

Price alerts are delivered by our alert service. When you add symbols to your watchlist, Stock-Dawgg registers the information described in Section 2b. During market hours the service checks prices every few minutes and sends a push notification through Firebase (Google) when a symbol crosses your threshold. When a device's push token is no longer valid — for example, after the app is uninstalled — its record is automatically deleted.

Ex-dividend date alerts and monthly report notifications are generated entirely on-device.

You can turn off notifications at any time in your device's settings.

8. Children's Privacy

Stock-Dawgg is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided information through Stock-Dawgg, please contact us and we will address the situation promptly.

9. Data Security

Data on your device is protected by your device's built-in encryption — file-based encryption on Android 10 (API 29) and above, and Data Protection on iOS 16 and above. On iPhone, the key for your encrypted backups is kept in the iOS Keychain; on Android it is derived from your passphrase and never stored. All communication between the app and our servers is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Our alert database is not publicly readable.

We strongly encourage all users to enable screen lock and biometric authentication. These features complement OS-level encryption and are your primary defense against unauthorized physical access to your device and the locally stored financial data within Stock-Dawgg.

10. Data Breach

Our servers hold no names, email addresses, payment details, or portfolio holdings, so a breach of our systems would not expose that information. The only information on our servers is the anonymous price alert information described in Section 2b. If we ever learn of unauthorized access to it, we will post a notice on this website and in the app.

11. Data Deletion

To delete all Stock-Dawgg data from your device, uninstall the app. All locally stored data — watchlist, portfolio, preferences, and cached data — is permanently deleted upon uninstallation. On iPhone, saved PDF reports are deleted with the app. On Android, PDF reports saved to Downloads/StockDawgg/ must be deleted manually if desired.

Backups you saved to iCloud or Google Drive stay in your own account until you delete them. On iPhone, go to Settings → your name → iCloud → Manage Storage → Stock-Dawgg. On Android, delete the Stock-Dawgg folder in Google Drive.

After you uninstall, your price alert record is deleted from our servers automatically the next time our alert service finds that the device's push token is no longer valid. You can also request deletion at any time by emailing support@digidawgg.com with the subject “Delete my data”. Because Stock-Dawgg has no accounts, please tell us which platform you use (iPhone or Android) and a few of the symbols on your watchlist so we can find your anonymous alert record. We will delete it within 30 days and confirm by email.

Subscription purchase records are kept by Apple or Google and RevenueCat as required for billing and tax purposes. To cancel a subscription, use your App Store or Google Play account settings — uninstalling the app does not cancel it.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the app, applicable law, or our practices. Changes will be reflected in the app and on this website with an updated date. Continued use of Stock-Dawgg after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
